Bruce quoted a USMC veteran:

This was interesting information that further indicates that the USMC had adopted Army radio gear by late in the war. With respect to the quote above, I wonder how the MAB would have been evaluated under the same usage conditions as the SCR-536. The BC-611 doesn't appear to be as water resistent as it should have been, but neither does the MAB or DAV. The MAB must have been even shorter-ranged than the BC-611.
