It certainly doesn't appear to be from 1944 as the caption suggests.
If nothing else, all of the gear and packs look too new.

You forgot "Pearl Harbor": WWII for Hollywood.
Band of Brothers has to fit somewhere in the "most credible" accounts,
too, despite some of the 'Hollywooded' scenes like the child SS
trooper shot at the dike. Not that young soldiers weren't employed,
more than the particular scene was inaccurately portrayed for effect.
