Hi Hue,
I have one of these NOS and I powered it up at work and coupled loosely to an HP spectrum analyzer. It was within 100 Hz of the center frequency (740kHz?).I was amazed at how accurately it was tuned and how stable.I used it to demo my ARB/ZB/DU display years ago at the MRCG event.

Subject: [Milsurplus] Test Osc. for ZB series Aircraft Radio

CZR-60013 S/N 149

has blue painted hand lettered on top:

RADIO SHOP
AIR AS DEV LANT

Electronics is intact. Snap-in retained alignment tool
(?) is missing. Schematic has pencilled notation,
"Modified in accordance with T.O. 134-44". Only
physical change i see is that the spec 50k grid
resistor of osc. 955 valve is changed to a modern,
smaller 50k resistor.

Battery box is pretty crusty. The alu chassis deck
between batt box and electronics side has lots of
crust on it - probably sandpaperable off. Two of
battery box walls also need to be sandpapered.
AND- the cover to the batt box has two holes
in it - i have to assume the battery material ate
thru here - amazing! One hole approx 3/8 inch
diameter, other hole about 1 x 1/4 inch. Could
be Bondo- filled and repainted.

Externally, other than this one cover side, the
thing actually looks good.

This is the vhf test oscillator for ZB navig.
adapter used with ARB and RU.

I probably want $20 total for it, including shipping,
which i guesstimate around $12, which leaves me
a couple bucks to make me feel better about
spending time packing. Or, if i owe you one,
you can call in a favor and have the thing for
shipping only, or maybe free. FOB 97365.

PS- can anyone translate the "AIR AS DEV
LANT" ?
