I checked the transmitter out fairly closely today and discovered
something that to me, at least, is pretty important:

A previous owner, a Navy MARS member, had converted it to 220 VAC
SINGLE PHASE in 1984, and used it regularly on the air.

I also found the original manual for it, and a set of simplified operating
instructions.

The transmitter is incredibly dirty, but has been stored inside a heated
building. I found a mouse nest (unoccupied) in one of the pull-out
decks.

It appears that all the important tubes are there, and there are spare
final amp tubes for it in boxes. It uses 4 ea 4CX300s.

It appears to be mostly complete to me, although I have not yet been
able to get it turned around to look at the rear.

All decks pull out cleanly. I did find a couple of smaller tubes missing in
one of the decks, I think it was the VFO deck. The missing tube was a 9
pin mini of some sort, but I didn't check the type number. The black-
anodized tube shield was lying near it.

Although I would dearly love to have it myself, and put it on the air, I
have no place to put it and too darned much stuff as it is. I can't burden
my most understanding wife with it.

Therefore, I told the heiress that I would try to sell it for her.

There is NO WAY we could ship the thing. It would have to be picked
up.

At the moment, it is in a small "bedroom community" called Woodland
Hills, about 3 miles east of Moscow, Idaho.

I am not sure what to ask for it, but I do know that Army Radios has a
bunch of them in Greece for sale for $1500.00, less shipping.

At least this one is in the U.S. already, and near the west coast.

Any help or comments from the list will be appreciated.
