[Milsurplus] 800-1 800 cycle rotary inverter

Brethren:
Does anyone have experience with the 800-1 inverter?  Using one with my 
TBW transmitter seems not quite satisfactory.  When adjusted for best 
line regulation (a few volts) key-up/down, the filament voltage varies 
too much.  When adjusted for minimum filament voltage variation (1 volt 
or less) key-up/down, the line voltage does strange things, but there is 
only a trace of chirp on 40M.
The TBW instruction book says you wil normally have about 4 microfarad 
of line capacitor shown connected, which is what I have as optimum.
