I don't have one, but some time ago I downloaded the operator manual (TM
11-5820-759-12) from the logsa.mil website. It's a mid-1960s 100-watt
design that covers 2 to 15 mc, USB/LSB/AMe/CW. The US Army version was the
AN/GRC-165 (in olive drab), while the US Navy used them on their Vietnam-era
PCF switft boats (in navy gray) as the AN/URC-58.
I've been led to understand that if not aligned properly, they are famous
for spurious emission.
Fair Radio has had complete AN/GRC-165 sets for sale for years.
