I think the low point of R-390 prices must have been around the mid 80s when they were showing up at swapfests for $100-$125. The saddest sight I ever saw was several pallets of them sitting out in the rain at Kelly back in that time frame, waiting to go to the crusher.

Which brings up another point. How do you peg the price? I am not that familiar with the prices of a wide range of AN/ nomenclatured stuff, but I can speak to surplus commercial test equipment. At the local DRMO auctions, back in the good old days, you could be pretty sure of getting HP/Tek/Fluke/etc. for just slightly more than 10% of the Tucker used equipment catalog price. So, you could buy 10 of them, get maybe 6 or 7 working, sell several and quadrupule your money, plus have a good working unit and a lot of spare parts.

But, as you say, them days are gone forever.
