[Milsurplus] New to Ham radio - info on ham military rigs

Hi, am new to ham radio, although I have posted here
before.  Got my Tech class license last month, and am
interested in getting started with the license class I
have currently, broadcasting with mil radios.  I
understand there are few if any mil rigs in the
2-meter band, but what other freqs are Tech class
licenses allowed to broadcast Phone on?  Are there any
mil rigs that you all would recommend for a new ham
for a starter mil rig, usable on the freqs available
for my class license?  I'm not sure if 6-meter is open
to me or not.  BTW - I do not have CW yet.  I barely
can remember my license number, much less dots and
dashes. :)  Thanks for your help.
