sub-topic: hunting out & installing original spares

My opinion is life's too short. Of course you can embed disc ceramics
in bad-from-birth Micamold & Coronet 'postage-stamp' paper caps.

Tho I've never seen a ohmite resistor disguised to look like a
bad-from-birth IRC composition resistor.

M.O. in AA4RM land is to get them technically fb with whatever's @ hand,
save all the parts in a zip-lock, then masking tape same inside set.

Fast forward to a downstream owner with Jack Horner syndrome. This
collector will have every carcass for re-pack & can say "Oh what a
good boy I am"

Consider the re-packed capacitor's in an IF can which is in a module
package which sits in a cabinet. Is it fair to question visual
correctness in a Russian egg-nest this deep?

Is it sane to avoid a knob-touch if there's knowledge of such a visual
transgression? Sounds like Caine Mutiny stuff to me.
