So your reason is, to cooperate with existing Army radios?
I'd say:  however, the 611 was mainly to communicate with 
other 611's, not?
The 611 was much later than the 245. The armor that the
troops might have been cooperating with wouldl be using
FM radios, no? In the 27-40 Mcs. range.
