It's not always just about the money.
Parting out one can often help complete several people's sets.
I did this once with a WS-19. I had bought about 80%
of a complete set. I thought hard about it, then
decided I wasn't going to "do" a 19 set. I let all
the parts go seperately. I heard back from
guys who were able to complete their 19 sets and
they were just tickled. I did the same with a
"hammed" BC-474. The cabinet went to one person,
modulation transformer to another, key jacks to another
etc. It filled "holes" for several people.
Occasionally parting-out a set can make a lot
of your fellow collectors happy.
In fact, I'm tempted over a couple of those
"ART-13" lots; I need some replacement knobs and
a spare autotune motor would be nice.
