So far as I've seen, the last complete TCS (-12, 13 and -14) sets were 
ordered in 1944.  That's actually based on the dates in the manuals more than 
anything else.  Unfortunately, the Navy contract numbers don't have a date buried in 
them like the Signal Corps order numbers do.  But some subassemblies were 
probably ordered in 1945.

I'd never noticed the large letters, but it's been several years since I 
really looked at anything other than TCS-12 or -14 components.  I'll have to look 
at one of the early ones to see what you're talking about.

Yes, so far as anyone knows.  And around 1950 or 1951, by Air King.
