If he starts at this level, he will probably close with no bidders.
Human beings are funny; they will bid against each other
and end up paying $750, but they won't open the bidding at $500.
He should make sure it's in the proper category,
take lots of *clear* pictures, describe it with complete honesty,
open the bidding at $1 and hold on for the ride.

IMHO, without the tubes, he will get less than a thousand for the
entire lot.  But auctions are unpredictable;
I've seen rare items go for $20, and common items go for $200.
He'll do better if he's willing to sell and ship each item separately.
A truly NIB BC-375, even without the tubes, should do well.
But when combined with a large lot, people get scared-off;
they figure it's going to go for big money and they don't
have a chance, so they don't bid. Someone bolder gets a deal.
If he sells and ships separately, he'll get more
and more people will get to complete their SCR-287s,
so that's a "win-win." If he sells it as a lot,
he's going to get less money and a dealer is probably going
to buy the lot and break it up for resale.
Unless the transmitters come with a full set of tuning
units with matching serial numbers; that's a whole
different deal.

Just one man's opinion, and worth every penny you paid for it ;-).
