[Milsurplus] PBY restoration

I presume they have already had contact with Hawkins & Powers Aviation in
Greybull, WY, who restored and flew PBY's under firefighting contracts with
Uncle Sam for many, many years. I suspect some of their guys are PBY
wizards.

You might want to suggest that they contact The New England Air Museum
at Bradley International Airport (www.neam.org) in CT. They have some
very talented restorers and might be interested in the PBY.
I know your folks would like to memorialize the Whidbey history, but a
base closing there might, as you said, result in scrapping the airplane and
that would be a pure shame.
