Sounds a lot like some of the fun and games the local PBY association is going through....

They found one, went through all kinds of trouble to get it just good enough to fly to NAS 
Whidbey. While sitting on the ramp there, fuel leaks became a major problem. Think they 
have removed all fuel, and are working on a full restore on it. They still have no location for 
display when done.

There has been talk of attempting to get 1 of each aircraft type based at NAS Whidbey, but 
with all the troubles they have been having with the PBY, that talk has dried up.

Also, with the chances (I say likelihood) of closing of NAS Whidbey, the PBY may never be 
displayed in the area. If the base does close, they may be forced to scrap the PBY.
