Have to agree with David. Take LST-325 as an example. We have a complete
TCS-12 up and running and have been using it on CW and AM for over a year
and a half. Perry, W8AU has been working his heart out trying to get the
TDE running to add to the authentic WW2 operational character of the
ship. Granted there is a SSB rig aboard but the real fun is two way
contacts using the WW2 gear.
As David said there are great numbers of hams out there that are willing to
get that WW2 gear running just as it was during WW2.
A question arose the other day at LST-325. Where can you find tactical
call signs used during WW2. LST-325 has the CW call NWVC but the voice
tactical call is unknown.
