Lets not hang all these "boys" so fast gentlemen. You have to remember the 
type of individuals you are dealing with here, not green radio ham buffs like 
you guys, but likely some Navy vets that were never in a radio room, and for the 
planes, some mechanics and a pilot or two not familiar with the insides of a 
radio.  Believe me, as I'm only part way thru the restoration of a 
Willys-Overland Navy radio jeep (that uses a TCS), to the layman ... the uninitiated, 
radios are a daunting area. I have yet to find someone located close, competent, 
and willing to teach me the TCS radio. I'm college educated and have read the 
manual, as well as several on radios in general and maintenance. I want to 
operate and maintain the TCS, but the challenge is tough for individuals where 
radios are only part of their hobby. 

We need to find some middle ground here. This may give someone who is 
familiar with the TCS (and other Navy radios) and opportunity to work a radio on the 
PT boat!
