I just did a check on the e-place for BC-221s and there are at least 4
offered for $9.99. I bought two for $5.00 each a couple of years ago.
Both of mine were in excellent shape. One included a home-brew AC
power supply. The other was obviously never used. I had to rebuild the
AC supply and do some other, minor, work on that particular 221. I built
a simple supply for the other one.

I very much agree with you.

BTW, ALL of the LM series had a "Modulated Output" mode. Very few
of the BC-221s offered that. The only versions of the BC-221 that did
were the AJ, AK, and AL. Both of mine are AK versions.

The main reason I got two was when aligning receivers I set one at
each end of the receiver's tuning range where the signal gen is
supposed to be set. Makes for a lot easier job.
