A couple of days ago, I asked: if anyone recognized the RAF Dyno on eBay, item
number 6515513150.
Here are part of the answers I received from George Bichard::
Yes, it looks exactly like a Power Unit Type 319 (used for beam
approach equipment). The specification matches this exactly too.
I then asked about the valve:
Yes, its a 120V regulator. This is for the 120V stabilized output which is
additional to the main 200V HT output and the stabilized LT output.
I have the full details, circuits, everything. I could send you a copy of
some of it if you like.
By the way, in case you fancied buying it I should warn you that it's only
half a thing. For some strange reason, the voltage regulator unit was external
to the
power unit on this model. It won't work at all without the regulator!
It needs a regulator Type 12.
If you are interested in this kind of thing in general I know a man who
would sell you a CD of the entire manual of these objects for about £12.
Thanks very much. I'm not interested in bidding, just curious. Most of the RAF
kit is beyond my means.
