There were two different kinds of hangers for the RS-38, actually - see

The RS-38 was used shipboard too for most carbon mic situations I was in
during the early-late '60s, things like TED, URC-9 etc. The mic hanger I
always saw onboard was the one with the wire bows. I never saw or had the
four finger model until Ray Mote gave me one.
