Lotsa apples vs pc-s, er, oranges stuff.
Perfect grounds vs backyard grounds
W/o waving hands too much, note you can't pump power into an antenna
unless you can set up a 'dipole moment.' That is a '2 wire connection'
into which watts'll flow.
A vertical's ground system provides the mirror for the dipole's
missing half & hence connection between radial system & the up-going
spear will take power. Radials try to be that 'perfect ground.'
Long wires. For a random giz over the back yard, there's a vertical
component & a horizontal - as in B29/36 story before. And far from
a perfect ground.
The vertical does some radiating as a dipole. Some. The horizontal
radiates too. Tho modeled as a transmission line withouta gazinta-gazouta
dipole corrallary, imperfect ground unbalance produces the effect.
And you ALL buy baluns to eliminate that unbalance & prevent feed
line radiation.
There, another blurb w/o the T-word.
I just hate proofs like this. It's 'way more fun to cite unsupportable
oral tradition. Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Wreck of the Mary Deere.

Who's gonna re-open the compelling antenna wax subject?
