In a bomber or transport it was up to the radio operator to take care of
it. I suspect that while in actual combat the J37 was used.
I was a Special Weapons NCO in SAC and as such I only rode in the KB-29s as
a "SORT of PASSENGER". But I was there as a part of the mission.
