My RCA TV sets are all made on the American continent, and still
running after 20 years. I have never bought a Thompson one, they
are junk. My other TV is a Zenith with some parts made in Mexico
and Canada. CRT's in two of them are OEM by Hitachi. I repaired
TV sets for 20 years and saw RCA's products turn to crap. Once
RCA was sold off to Thompson, the VCR's and TV's went to pot.

I don't have much choice what aircraft I fly on, but I don't eat
fried potatoes nor apple picy mustard if i can help it. I like
baked potatoes and regular mustard.

I think the closest thing I have to a French product around here
is a DSL modem made in Belgium, as well as a Belgian military
rifle which had been converted to 30.06 for hunting. There is a
50% chance that either these might have been made or used by
someone that spoke French.

As for Cornwallis, does anyone think that the people of the north
American continent would still be under British rule?

As for "mains" power, we should have employed from the start,
something more sensible, like 100V/100Hz. In the past there might
have been complaints about humming transformers at 100Hz
(especially in 3 phase systems), but today, where most of it is
switching supplies, no one would care.

Can anyone say why 60Hz was chosen?
