Get used to it, folks.

eBay is a business. The management only cares about growing the stock to line
their and their shareholders' pockets.  Customer Service only exists only to
insulate management from complaints.  They are not interested in helping you
out. The vast majority of users don't sell very much or buy very much so if they
have a few annoyed customers, let them take their business elsewhere.

Much as I dislike government intervention, the government is the only entity
that can control eBay.  I detest some of eBay's policies, but realize that I
can't do anything to alter them even the tiniest bit. Furthermore, it's
difficult to vote with your feet when you are on a small island. Just like the
laws of thermodynamics:

1.  You can't win
2.  You can't break even
3.  You can't get out of the game
