[Milsurplus] Lower voltage dynamotors

Fellow devotees of dynamotor whine,

For a while now I've been tracking DY-77/AIC-10 interphone amplifier
power supplies. They're normally a small open chassis with a couple of
filter caps and a small dynamotor on them to power the pencil tubes in
the AIC-10 interphone set and associated speaker. Reason for the
interest? It has a command receiver size dynamotor on the back that
produces 175 vdc - about 75 volts less than the standard dyno for these
sets. That's quite a bit easier on the capacitors in these old
ARA/274N/ARC-5 and other 250v sets, without significantly reducing their
overall performance. Recently I purchased yet another one of them, but
this one is different from the ones I've been picking up. It's a
DY-76A/AIC-10 - the dyno is somewhat larger, and I thought from the
picture it might be about the size of the BC-348 dyno. Unfortunately,
it's not the same size. At 3.5" it's roughly the same diameter, but
it's 6.75" long. The reason I mention it is that the seller has a few
more of these, and they're all NIB. They'll put out a total of 600mA,
so if you wanted to power several sets from this one supply it would be
quite easy. Note that you will have to fabricate a mount for it,
basically an aluminum plate with four 1/4-20 threaded standoff posts - I
can send a drawing that I cobbled up if anyone is interested. No
connection to the seller except a satisfied customer, but I thought I
might mention one of the URLs with a picture:

This one is closed, but I'm sure he'll list it again.

73,
Mike
