[Milsurplus] Markings on WWII Navy Receiver

Dave, my first guess is that this markings is some kind of inventory marking,
after its service period had ended, and before the next stop which was some
kind of surplus disposal. My take is that i would not go out of my way to
preserve the markings.

For some reason i also thought of the swapmeet yahoos who write prices on
their for-sale items using marking pens. Real suave.
