Thanks for that! I had forgotten it. Well, the ending _is_ a real downer.
I've got to get a copy of R. A. Heinlein's "Destination Moon"; has anyone
got anything to say about radio gear in it? I'm pretty sure the book says
explicitly that it was military surplus.
How about "This Island Earth", by Raymond F. Jones, made into a movie back
in 1955?
I still like the interocitor; I want one. And remember, it was a GB rig,
with a catherimine tube having an endiom complex of plus four, which
guaranteed it to be the best on the market. Just don't buy from Electronic
Service Unit 16 -- unless you want to end up working for the Peace
Engineers, fighting the Suoinard and other nonhumans.
But what an opportunity for DX!
