If you are interested in the audio frequency response, just put LPF in your
scope lead or put the element in a tin can (like a1 qt paint can from Home
depot. Drill some small holes or cur a larger hole and solder some window screen
across it for the sound. Ground the can to the scope ground.
If the mike is dynamic, not ribbon or carbon, it should make sound. You'll
probably be OK if you keep the drive below 100 mW an do it only for a second or
two.
