Not an answer to the eternal question of BC-611 output, but we recently
did 6 miles with mine.... not a record, but not bad.  (3885 kHz)

OK... it was line of sight, across 6 miles of salt water (Buzzard's Bay, 
MA) to AJ1G/K2WI at West Island. (Coastwatcher reenactment)  I was aboard 
LST 325 headed upbound to Cape Cod Canal.  Still good signals when we 
ended.  Would have tried for a record, but the extra time required might 
have done in my battery!  :-)
