Saw a "Comco" ad in "Electronics" magazine June 1945. It has a drawing of a trooper wearing
what looks like, with the artist's usual inaccuaracies entering in, an MAB. "Comco builds the
smallest combat walkie talkies. Now it can be told! Comco Walkie Talkies are not 'war babies'.
They were first built for civilian use....for use by mounted policemen....before the war."
Mounted patrolmen? That mean like on horseback, or the more modern way, motor vehicles?
Anyway, seeing it reminded me that i think this would have been a superior HF - AM walkie
for the European war theater. Easier to work on, i think; easier to replace sub-units, like
chassis, case, antenna, headset, if damaged, and more practical to carry. So i wonder why
it didn't win out?
