[Milsurplus] Secret pre-WW2 weapon?

LOL, I looked up the patent number.
The schematic is curiously close to what I would
imagine the circuit of this device to be. If the
seller sends me any additional pix I can confirm
what I suspect it really is: Part of an electric
"permanent wave" hairsetting machine, circa
~ 1938-41. Remember how popular "radio this"
and "radio that" used to be in brand names.
