Hi Ken & gang:

Can't help you with the dial lock and transformer, but here are some ideas
for the dial "glass".

If it's yellowed and warped - and going from memory - these are probably
celluloid. I've had some success reshaping them by soaking them in hot tap
water and a some "massaging" -- bending back in the reverse of the warp, but
gently, a little at a time. As you work with it, it will cool down, so have
to be soaked again. Sometimes I've done this with the hot tap water
running, etc. It has probably also shrunk a bit and that can't be fixed.
But you might be able to flatten it out enough to be acceptable-looking when
mounted back in the bezel.

Another approach is to fabricate a new one. You can either forget about the
band markings or replicate them with transfer lettering or decals. Use two
pieces of acrylic and sandwich the one with the transfer lettering behind
the extra one to protect it from rubbing off.

A relatively easy way is to use overhead transparency stock (for overhead
projectors) made either for laser printers/copiers or inkjet printers. You
might be able to scan the markings well enough, clean up the scanned image
and then print it on transparency stock. Then sandwich that between two
pieces of acrylic or something. Some transparency material is more crystal
clear -- other types have a bit of a haze to them.

You'll probably have some trouble finding a good replacement. Not exactly a
common NOS item. Reminds me of an old joke, which I will proceed to ruin:
A guy comes up to a parts counter and holds up a grundgy looking widget all
bent up with oil and crud dripping from it and asks the man: "Got any of
these?", to which the parts guy replies: "Sure, I got hundred's of 'em."
... holding up an identical grundgy looking widget all bent up with oil and
crud dripping from it.

Well it goes something like that anyway. I'm sure practically anybody could
have told it better. (got any jokes like this-a-one? ;-)
