Does anyone have any pre-1940 SCR-178 parts? I would like to know who made
them.

I am starting to suspect that many of the 1930s sets that were built in
1940 thru 42, like the SCR-178, SCR-131, SCR-156 and such, were perhaps
built by firms that did *not* build the sets in the 1930s. I wonder if
Bunnell, H & K, and the like were sold the tooling and licenses in short
order, perhaps by "persuation" of the Signal Corps, in order to free up
the production lines of the big military contractors (Westinghouse, GE,
Sylvania, RCA, etc.).
