Not just the books; sometimes the references from which the books
are created are at fault. I saw a book a couple of years ago-
I *think* it was one of those "walk around" books that so irritates
me because of the phony avionics installs that the authors pretend
are "authentic." It showed a very cherryed-out P-38 rebuilt, I
believe, for the NASM. It had a wonderful SCR-274 installation,
except for one little detail: an MP-28 modulator that fits a TA-12.
How could anyone miss that?? The manuals are commonly available.
Made my skin crawl; not as bad as the abominations done
by the politcallyCorrect Air Force, but still; it's the
Smithsonian; you expect better. Look at the absolutely stunning
job done on the Enola Gay. Now *that* was done right.
Ah well.... "for all have sinned" etc.
