I'm not resistant to that idea at all, and it's probably true, but the subject Manual 64-1 from Headquarters Eighth Air Force is "proof" to me that they were used in, or intended for use in, those SAC planes.

I don't know why so many people are resistant to the idea
that the RS-6 was regularly employed in *both* roles.
A long line of mission planners and spook managers operating
over a period of many years would need to have been blind
and dumb to ignore the RS-6 in both roles; for the time,
nothing else comes close to its "stealth."
