When I buy a GRC-106, I always try to get the 'original' meters.
Well here's my PCB story to go with the rad and lead tales.
I won't go into how I ended up with an old 5600V 1.1A CCS
Amertran transformer with 8 gallons of the juice inside. FB
transformer allright, at 300 lbs, it was good for twice that in
ham service. But I was not going to use it. I had already sold
the 4CX5000A and socket, if you know what I mean..
So into the picture comes eB*y.. It sold for $1, to a tesla coil
enthusiast in OK. All was disclosed.
He showed up, signed the release of liability, Put on gloves, and
went to the backyard and loaded the transformer up. Despite the
oil sloshing around and some dribbling out of the vent holes, it
got loaded with no spillage except a little on the trailer.
I can only imagine his wife is very understanding.
