[Fwd: [Milsurplus] MAW-1 reported to Nuclear Regulatory Commission!]

Well, now it is a big deal and they are probably going to try and figure
out where it came from and charge the person who threw it out as a
terrorist under the Patriot act. I'm not joking. Just today some guy
who pointed a laser pointer at an airplane was charged that way and
faces 25 years and a $500,000 fine. They sell those things on street
corners in NYC!

If for any reason the authorities discover you have radioactive items in
your possession, you and your family are screwed. You say you are a
NRC-licensed reactor operator? That will make it 10 times worse. The
public has an irrational fear of radiation.

 >Nothing like un-informed over-reaction! Anyone want to "assist in
 >appropriate disposition" of this very dangerous (?!?) MAW-1?
