It is all aluminum, a lot of it, though.  both the RF and IF/audio sections 
have their own power supplies.  It has an ovenized time base, and I would 
bet the filters weigh five pound each.  It just adds up.  BTW, the fixed 
unit is a FRR-59.  I own three of these beasts, plain, A, and B models, the 
plain is National built, and has the neat National chrome and red logo on 
the front.  If that guy is still looking for a manual,  I have one I can 
copy.
