I would not think a single-frequency PRC-6 or similar would be a good choice
for an impovershed country's military with practically no support infrastructure.
They need some radio with selectable frequency, even if it's not as rugged. The
radio of choice for many informal or poor militaries has been commercial HT's, like 2
meter HT's. They work great, and are priced low enuff to be a commodity, so if it
breaks, you just toss it. -Hue Miller
