PBS is running a program on the Burma Railway in WW II. Mention is made of the
AZON (AZimuth ONly) guided bomb.

This puppy was a 1000 pound HE bomb with a high power flare in it's tail (for
visual tracking of the falling bomb) and was guided to it's target by radio
signals from the airplane that dropped it.

Does anyone know what transmitter and sight were used, and what frequency it
operated on?

Thanks,
-John
