My day job has to do with the refurbishment, repair, and re-cert of the
Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for C-130, P-3 Orions, F-16s, f-22s, etc...
I do the electronics and electrical Stuff, (as opposed to the hydraulic,
pnematic, and mechanical work) - so I specify and buy hundreds to
thousands of Mil connectors every month, depending on the contracts in
house and where we are in the refurb cycles.
I buy from a number of sources, but I have had very good luck with
PEI-Genesis... they have local distributors so you should find and call
the office nearest you - they'll happily send one conncetor, or one
box-car load... and most of the folks I've talked to actually *knew*
about connectors, and have saved my old butt more than once when I was
trying to reconstruct things that had a hole with mounting screws and a
hunk of hacked-off cable hanging down out of it - no drawings...
Anyway I also will see if I can give Wm Perry some business - seems to
have a good 'rep' among y'all.
ALSO: For very good priced mil-spec switches, toggle and rotary, I've had
the best luck with ElectroSwitch - Allied ELectronics reps them - for
example, a Janco rotary 8-pole 4-throw switch was $486 from Janco, $455
from Cole, and $186 from Electroswitch... same specs right down to the
degrees-per-detent and ferrule-dog angle. woo hoo!
Just an FYI for those restoring or repairing MilGear.
Cheers
