[Milsurplus] Natural rubber deteriation

A good solvent to remove oil from things w/o damage is Heptane (aka Rubber
Cement Thinner). It's available at craft stores. I'd not soak the shock mount in
it for days on end, but it should be OK for 10 or 15 minutes.

I bought a very rare manual on eBay that was soaked in oil and was able to fully
restore it using the thinner.

BE CAREFUL, however, because the stuff is very volatile and flammable. Do it
outdoors in a covered jar.

Also, the shock mount is likely Neoprene not natural rubber if it's black in
color.
