[Milsurplus] what use/value AN/URM-64/TS-419/U?

Hi

I had a pallet of these a while back. Here's what I observed from those:

1) Out of the 22 tubes in each the generators maybe one or two tested
"ok" (as opposed to good) on a tube tester. The majority tested dead.

2) If I remember correctly the klystrons were among the dead tubes (as
in no filament). That pretty much tosses out the calibration.

3) The fans on the commercial version are amazingly long lived - they
all worked.

My only first hand experience with these beasts (as in when they were
new and I still had hair) was that you left them on all the time. That
way the drift was at least close to reasonable. My suspicion is that
the batch I had stayed plugged in for about a year or two after they
were last used.

Eventually I came to the same conclusion you have ..... scrapped them
out.

	Take Care!
