Photos left-right reversed in (chemical ) developing are a thing of the past with all-electronic
photography.
Someday maybe perusers of old books will be stumped by rare variants of radios portrayed, that
are really mirror-image shots.
In "Fundamentals of Radio for those preparing for war service", 1943, there are two shots of the
BC-474, and one is reversed. Nice photo editing. Also the fact that the two GI's working the BC-474,
even the one cranking the handcrank generator, are wearing neckties, was a real give-away.
There's an aircraft radio book i have that stumped me with its reversed photo of a BC-224-A.
And i also recall an aviation magazine from the 80s that showed the interior of a PV-2 being
restored
to absolute original. The ART-13 visible in it is reversed. As the project neared completion,
anyway,
the owner took it out over some lake in California, and buzzing the lake, stalled out. ( Sic transit
gloria...)
