I'm sorry, Meir, but I have never understood that rationale. Fifteen years
ago I had a guy come up to me at a local hamfest all in a dither because he had
heard from someone else there that I had available all of the seven
connectors that are used with a complete AN/ART-13. I quoted him prices. He looked me
squarely in the eye and stated that the connectors could not be worth more
than the transmitter. And turned and walked off. I later learned that he had
paid $20.00 for the transmitter to some worthless rice burner addict.

My point is that just because you got part of a set for next to nothing
doesn't mean that anyone else has to give you the rest of it for nothing. I gave
maybe $200 for my first complete SCR-284-A, most of which was stolen in 2000.
I've got about $1000 ($1082.144 to be exact) into it's replacement and would
quickly give 5% or maybe more of that for a US made GY-11 or P-19, the only
pieces I have been unable to find replacements for after more than five years of
looking. Despite the fact that I probably gave no more than $5 each for the
stolen ones many years ago.

Anyway, the bottom line is that what you gave for one part of a radio set has
no bearing on what some other part of it is worth or might cost.
