Yup, the good ol' days, when life was sweeter because... any second you
could be vaporized. Of course, nowadays, there seems to be a greater chance
of being blown away (literally) or washed away by something more regional or
localized, be it man-made or Mother Nature.
Anyway, I picked up a couple of Conelrad receivers recently -- just in case.
I was fiddling around with one of 'em and it made a noise. Instinctively, I
ducked under my desk and put my head down. As everyone who was
indoctrinated in those days -- you'll be perfectly safe under your desk as
school desks are known to protect against blast and radiation.
Never did hear the all clear sirens and bumped my head when I came out from
under.
Yup, good ol' Slim Pickens riding that bomb down like a bronco -- YA..
Hooooooooooooooeeeeeeee!
Actually, I want to see if I can re-tune one of them to a regular AM
station. Anybody done that?
Barry
