Since i made a statement about the Lady be good B-24 sometime back, here 
is a webpage that deals with that airplane.  I've not gone through it 
totally but there are also some other references in the page.

Interesting pictures and stuff like that.  Have to read it further and 
see if they mention any of the aircraft radios.  But they do say that 
the Army issue A-11 watch still ran and was accurate within a few 
seconds after being recovered.

Note also that the recovery of the Lady was the inspiration of a Rod
Serling Twighlight Zone and a made for TV movie entitle "The Sole Survivor."

     Greetings all:  I've been working on some pics and found one that
     any of you who visited Wheelus might recognize.  The prop, at the
     foot of the base flagpole was from a B-24 (correct me if I'm wrong)
     that was lost after a raid on Ploesti and crashed in the desert.
     It was found, years later, and (most of) the crew recovered.  If my
     feeble memory serves, the aircraft name was "Lady Be Good".
