I've had the same problem with the surface tension of distilled water
and the small holes for adding water on some similar batteries.
I went to the local drug store and got a "doseing" syringe like that
used to give children medicine; it was free.  This had the correct size
barrel to stick in the fill hole.  Only 2 teaspoons at a time, but
faster than the "drip" or "soak" method.
