Greetings
Lugged the BC-610, lots of cables and small parts, a Scott RCH, GRR-5
with a second power supply, a 6 meter FM military transceiver box and
some test equipment. Close to a half ton of stuff. It took three trips
to unload. Lucky that the tables next to me were empty so I could spread
out some more.
As usual, setup is a snap with lots of help unloading although the
workers were somewhat surprised at the 450 pound BC-610. Sold most of
the cables and parts (25 cents each, 5 for a buck and 30 for $5.00), the
RCH, the extra GRR-5 power supply, some home brew and test equipment.
The BC-610 was a great conversation piece and attention getter. Lots of
Hams who either once owned or worked on them or those who didn't know
what it was stopped to talk. I had some fun with the XYLs mentioning
that Fathers Day was coming up. Lots of chuckles there. Unfortunately,
it didn't sell.
There were a lot of Boatanchors there. Many of those I chatted with also
mentioned that they didn't remember seeing this many in a very long time.
Not much Collins gear was noted but lots of Nationals for some reason.
Saw a ARC-5 modulator, complete except for dynamotor go for $5.00. The
seller across from me bought a Drake 2B for $160. Said he always wanted
one. There was some other military stuff there but I guess I had the
most weight wise!
Regards,
Jim
