It could be that the AN/TRC-1 etc is being understood
to be a multichannel device if a CF-1 four-channel
voice carrier bay is tied into it. Or any type of
channelizing scheme, even if it is Northern or any
other kind of tone keyers. The T-14 is a single
channel FM transmitter, and whose baseband (audio)
can be as wide as 16 KHz at least. It's just a
pipe, the channelizing equipment is not part of
the T-14. I think the AN/TRC-24 replaced the
AN/TRC-1. I'm trying to remember what the four-chan
voice carrier unit was that usually went with the
AN/TRC-24. FGC-3 or something (?).
